Case Studies
Rollo, Davidson, McFarlane Website
Project Brief:
The company website should reflect all business services; and for estate agency activities, create a set of features which will give Rollos a market leading advantage. There is a requirement to make dynamic changes to property details online.
Approach:
Design of the website followed well established company principles with the database maintenance suite requiring close liaison with the Client. The unique feature would be an interactive property location map which would be directly linked to the database permitting changes to be updated on-line with immediate effect.
Our Solution:
The interactive map function with linked database principle met client's outline requirements and following a demonstration they agreed that this was the advantage they were looking, commenting thatmap movement and scaling (Pan/Zoom) were the best on offer.
- The mapping application was customised to the Client’s specification.
- OS StreetView product would provide the level of detail required for property location in urban areas
- A set of symbols were developed and added to the application library to distinguish property types
- Data input by Client was used to dynamically update properties on the map.
- Property types can be selected by entering criteria
- Individual Properties can be selected from a table and located by a “click” which zooms to the position.
- Click on property symbol opens the schedule.
- Costs are minimised with only initial and final position map images being charged. i.e. no charge for transitional images when zooming & panning
